As the galling wind lashed against my drenched body, my paws could hardly pull themselves through the sharp rocks that had cut them many times before. The howling wind ripped through my fur turning the light brown colour a bloody red. My limp tail dragged behind me creating a trail of death as I slowly limped on. I grumbled to myself ‘ surely, this is not how a god is supposed to be treated.’ I, myself, hadn’t a clue where my future was to be headed but I wouldn’t allow myself to slip into the realms of the dead this easily. My ears pricked as the sound of human voices drifted across the screeching wind, i narrowed my eyes scanning the horizon. A group of lights sparkled in the distance of the north-east. I found myself running faster and faster, panting hard.
With my speed of the great wolf I was in walking distance of the nearest house in no time. My body heaved as my breath came back to me, and I slyly walked up the porch of a red bricked house. I nudged the door with the tip of my nose and took my first steps into the building. I shook my dripping fur and looked around myself. Noises from both upstairs and down stairs could be heard. My feet ached as I took more steps. Half way into the house, I heard a horrified gasp. I turned to see a boy around 15 years of age staring at me, his eyes wide with shock. My image reflected off of his eyes and i saw myself for the first time in months, my fur was a tangled mess with blood lumps here and there, my ear was torn, my paws scarred and my tail torn. I was a mess. I looked like a mere dog. My eyes looked pleading as i gazed back into his, he smiled slightly still shocked. He quickly rushed me upstairs into a untidy room, his room. Suddenly the earth started swaying and the figure of the boy blurred. I felt myself collapse before the world went blank...
